Radio Herne is de lokale radio voor de stad Herne. Het begon in 1990 als Radio Herne 90acht en kreeg zijn vergunning van de Landesanstalt für Medien Nordrhein-Westfalen. Hoofdredacteur was tot 2013 Wolfgang Tatzel, die naar Radio Vest overstapte. Sinds juli 2013 is Christine Schindler hoofdredacteur van de zender. In het kader van een marketingcampagne van de exploitant Westfunk kreeg de zender op 1 april 2008 zijn nieuwe naam. Sinds de programma-herlancering op 11 januari 2010 noemt de zender zichzelf alleen nog Radio Herne.
