De Kaiserstraße is een belangrijke verkeersweg in Wuppertal en een ongeveer 1,5 kilometer lang deel van de Bundesstraße 228. In de wijk Vohwinkel loopt ze van het westen, waar ze begint bij het kruispunt Kaiserplatz. Ze gaat verder als B 228 als Vohwinkeler Straße. Naar het noorden gaat de Bahnstraße vanaf Kaiserplatz als Bundesstraße 224 in de richting van het Vohwinkeler station, en naar het zuiden de Gräfrather Straße, ook wel B 224 genoemd. In het oosten eindigt ze bij de Eugen-Langen-Straße. De B 228 kruist vervolgens als Straße Sonnborner Ufer het knooppunt Sonnborner Kreuz.
