Het Bisschoppelijk Kasteel van Fürstenwalde, ook wel Bisschopsburg genoemd, ligt in het centrum van de stad Fürstenwalde/Spree tegenover de kathedraal. Na jaren van verval is het sinds januari 2011 gerenoveerd en is het sinds maart 2013 gereed. Een deel wordt als restaurant gebruikt en is daarmee openbaar toegankelijk.
Na zijn oprichting in de 13e eeuw ontwikkelde Fürstenwalde zich snel tot een van de welvarendste steden van de Mark Brandenburg. De landvoogd Friedrich von Lochem liet in 1353 een kasteel bouwen als onderdeel van de stadsverdediging. De bisschopszetel was destijds nog in Lebus. Na de vernietiging van de Lebus kathedraal besloot het kapittel in 1373 in Frankfurt om de bisschopszetel naar Fürstenwalde te verplaatsen. Het besluit beschrijft de nieuwe zetel als "de charmante en bevolkte stad Fürstenwalde, sterk en goed bevoorraad met muren, torens, versterkingen en grachten." Twaalf jaar later gaf de paus zijn goedkeuring. Sinds 1389 was Fürstenwalde daarmee bisschopszetel en maakte het kasteel deel uit van de bisschoppelijke residentie.
