Estland , officieel de Republiek Estland , is een land in Noordoost-Europa, dat in het westen wordt begrensd door de Oostzee, in het noorden door de Finse Golf, in het oosten door Rusland en in het zuiden door Letland. Het is het noordelijkste en kleinste van de drie Baltische landen, en het onderscheidt zich van de andere Baltische landen Letland en Litouwen door onder andere de taal, die Finoegrisch is en niet Baltisch. Op 1 januari 2011 werd de Estische kroon vervangen door de euro. Estland is lid van de EU en lid van de NAVO.
