De Pyreneëen zijn een bergketen die zich in het noorden van het Iberisch schiereiland uitstrekt en het eiland verbindt met de rest van Europa. Ze strekken zich uit van de Middellandse Zee, bij Cap de Creus in het oosten, tot de Cantabrische Zee, bij de Golf van Biscay in het westen. Ten zuiden van de bergketen ligt het Ebro-bekken, en ten noorden dat van de Garonne.
