De Slag bij Cartagena was een zeeslag die op 3 september 1643 plaatsvond tijdens de Dertigjarige Oorlog voor de kust van Cabo de Gata nabij Cartagena, Spanje.
Na een reeks overwinningen in 1641 en 1642 domineerde de Franse Marine de Westelijke Middellandse Zee. Frankrijk had ook de controle over het grootste deel van Catalonië na de Catalaanse Revolte. Op dat moment durfde de Spaanse Marine zich niet te laten zien voor de Catalaanse kust.
