Escuñau[1] is een nederzetting in de gemeente Viella en Medio Arán met een bevolking van 105 inwoners[2], gelegen in de regio Valle de Arán in de provincie Lérida.
Escuñau ligt aan de linkeroever van de Garona, op een hoogte van 1049 m. Tot 1970 was het een onafhankelijke gemeente en omvatte het ook de dorpen Casarill en Betrén en het verlatene Castell. Samen met het naburige dorp Casarilh vormt het de gedecentraliseerde gemeentelijke entiteit van Escuñau en Casarill.
