Het meer ligt tussen het dorp Condette en het badplaats Hardelot, nabij het Écault-bos en het kasteel van Hardelot.
Tot 2009 was het meer een plaats die gewijd was aan recreatieve activiteiten, met de mogelijkheid om te pedaloboat of te vissen. Rondom het meer waren er kleine restaurants, een speelhoek, enkele attracties en een kleine trein.
