Sailly-sur-la-Lys is een gemeente in het Franse departement Pas-de-Calais . De gemeente telt 3995 inwoners en maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Béthune. Sailly-sur-la-Lys ligt aan de Leie.In het verleden had het dorp ook een Vlaamsklinkende naam: in 1374 werd Zellebeke geschreven, in 1556 eeuw Zelleken. Alle namen komen van het Gallo-Romeinse Salliacum, "plaats van Sallius", dat voor het eerst in 680 werd vermeld.
