Sint-Mariakappel is een gemeente in de Franse Westhoek, in het Franse Noorderdepartement. De gemeente ligt in Frans-Vlaanderen in de streek het Houtland. Sint-Mariakappel grenst aan de gemeenten Terdegem, Sint-Silvesterkappel, Hondegem en Kassel. De gemeente heeft ruim 800 inwoners.
Sint-Mariakappel werd voor het eerst vermeld in 1090 als Cappela Santae Mariae. Daarna werden diverse Vlaamstalige en Franstalige varianten. Tijdens de Franse Revolutie sprak men van Marie Cappele en daarna kwam ook de huidige naam in zwang.
