Auray is een gemeente in Frankrijk, in Bretagne. De gemeente telde 14.141 inwoners op 1 januari 2019. De inwoners worden Alréens genoemd. Auray ligt aan de Golf van Morbihan.Het staat bekend om zijn vakwerkhuizen. Auray was een welvarende handelsstad in de middeleeuwen dankzij haar ligging aan de Golf van Morbihan. De stad is opgedeeld in de haven en de bovenstad. Beide zijn met elkaar verbonden met hellingen en trappen. De kerk Saint-Gildas heeft gotische en renaissance-elementen. Het stadhuis dateert uit de achttiende eeuw. Nabij Auray was tot de Franse Revolutie een kartuizerklooster. Het gebouw deed daarna dienst als school voor blinden en doven tot het in 1968 vernield werd in een brand.
