Chaumont is een stad in het Franse departement Haute-Marne en telde op 1 januari 2019 21.847 inwoners. De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Chaumont. De stad is de hoofdplaats van het departement Haute-Marne en van zijn eigen arrondissement. Tot 1971 werd de stad Chaumont-en-Bassigny genoemd, naar Bassigny, de streek in Bourgondië waar de stad in ligt.
