De Toren van Constança werd in 1242 te Aigüesmortes opgericht door Lodewijk IX op de oude locatie van de Torre Matafère, gebouwd door Karel de Grote rond 790, om de garnizoens van de koning te beschermen. De werkzaamheden werden in 1254 voltooid.
De diameter is 22 m en de hoogte tot de top van de lantaarn is 33 m. De dikte van de muren aan de basis is 6 m.
