De kerk Sainte-Foy is gelegen op het plein Sainte-Foy, aan het einde van de boulevard Président-Carnot, naast het station van Agen, in Lot-et-Garonne.
Na het edict van vervolging op 28 februari 303, wordt heilige Foy gemarteld in 303, waarschijnlijk op 6 oktober, de dag van haar feest, nadat ze voor het tribunaal van Dacien, de Romeinse proconsul tijdens het bewind van keizer Maximianus, was verschenen. Na haar stierven haar zus heilige Alberte, heilige Caprais en andere christelijke inwoners van de stad, bijna 500, die kwamen delen in het lot van de martelaar.
