In 1866 werd in Baerenthal voor de kleine katholieke minderheid van het dorp de kapel Notre Dame de Confiance gebouwd, gewijd aan de Onbevlekte Ontvangenis. Het is gewijd aan de Onbevlekte Ontvangenis, heeft een neogotische stijl en herbergt een beeld van de Maagd met Kind. Het overleefde de drie Frans-Duitse oorlogen zonder al te veel schade en bleef discreet tot 18 mei 1960, toen de bedevaart "Notre Dame de confiance" begon
De kapel van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Vertrouwen bevindt zich op het kleine erfgoedpad (3,7 km) in het dorp Baerenthal, "Au grès du chemin... notre histoire".
