Gilles Diruit vestigde zijn atelier twintig jaar geleden in het hart van het Tempeliersdorp la Couvertoirade. Daar maakt hij parfumverspreiders van vertind metaal en messing in de vorm van kachels en kleine hout- en kolenfornuizen.
Het was haar passie voor modelbouw die haar ertoe bracht haar eerste parfumverspreider te creëren in 1990. Vandaag zijn haar creaties op schaal 1/10 verfraaid met alle accessoires die ze perfect identiek maken aan haar modellen en haar aandacht voor detail tonen.
Voor zijn metalen parfumbranders gebruikt Gilles staal, vertind staal, messing, aluminium en koper.
Hij tekent, tekent, snijdt (pers, guillotine, cutter), buigt en slaat. Hij gebruikt enkele eenvoudige maar specifieke machines zoals een zelfgemaakte buigmachine voor buizen en staven, een lintzaag, een depolijstvat (glaszand), enz.
Voor de assemblage zijn alle lassen gemaakt met tin, het aluminium is gelijmd met epoxy.
De afwerking, met de hand gedaan, met Zebraline, geborsteld en afgeveegd, geeft een onvergelijkbaar patina aan zijn creaties.
