De chalot (of chello in het Vogezen dialect), een typisch kenmerk van het lokale erfgoed, is een bijgebouw van de boerderij dat werd gebruikt om voedsel, graan en alcohol zoals Kirsch in op te slaan. Ze werden ook gebruikt
De chalot is gebouwd van hout en bedekt met een 'lavadak'. Hij kan worden gedemonteerd met behulp van een volledig met haringen uitgevoerde montagetechniek.
Bijna 325 chalots zijn geïdentificeerd in 7 gemeenten, waaronder Le Val-d'Ajol, Girmont-Val-d'Ajol en Plombières-les-Bains in de Vogezen, evenals gemeenten in de Haute-Saône.
