Deze dubbele sluis maakt het mogelijk een van de belangrijkste hoogteverschillen van het Canal du Midi (5,48 meter) over te steken. Bij de volgende sluis kruist het kanaal het aquaduct van Gardouch.
Het is 1430 meter van Gardouch en 4210 meter van Négra naar Montesquieu-Lauragais.
