In het midden van de jaren zeventig ontstond het oorspronkelijke idee van een stichting die kunstenaars uit Aquitanië samenbrengt.
Uit dit idee werd het Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst van Soulac geboren; door aankopen en schenkingen is ons museum vandaag rijk aan 265 werken van alle stromingen.
Van 19e eeuwse landschapskunstenaars (Augui, Cabié, Lépine...) tot 20e eeuwse abstracte kunstenaars (Gau, Calgani...), het is vooral de grote periode van de onafhankelijken van Bordeaux die aanwezig is op onze muren ....
