De Citerne-Lit is een "camouflageproject". Het idee is om een object uit de wereld van de landbouw (en zijn verbeelding) te gebruiken om een coconprogramma te creëren voor een overnachting in het hart van de natuur. De Citerne-Lit leent evenveel van de wereld van de landbouwer (waaruit hij afkomstig is) als van die van de ruimtecapsule (door zijn beperkte en ergonomische afmetingen) of zelfs die van de ongewone of ervaringsgerichte habitat, om een ander soort overnachting in een kunstvoorwerp aan te bieden. Zoals veel landbouwreservoirs geeft de Citerne-Lit de indruk in elkaar geflanst, gerepareerd en hergebruikt te zijn, ook al is het gebouwd op een nieuwe basis.
