Als voormalig porselein decorateur leerde Paul Buforn zijn vak als emailleur bij Fauré, een prestigieuze firma waarvan de mooiste vazen zijn tentoongesteld in de Galerie des Hospices in Limoges. Daarna leerde hij werken met email en richtte hij zich op deze kunstvorm. In 1975 opende hij zijn eigen atelier. Terwijl hij het grisaille, champlevé, cloisonné en beschilderd email waar Limoges bekend om staat nieuw leven inblies, vergat hij niet zijn eigen persoonlijke touch toe te voegen. Gepassioneerd door zijn vak verwelkomt hij graag bezoekers in zijn atelier in Nexon.
