Beschreven door Dr. Janicaud in Deel 26 van de Mémoires de la Société des Sciences de la Creuse (1935), stelt het ruwweg een zittende figuur voor, gehouwen uit één blok graniet van 1,10 m hoog. Het hoofd is bolvormig; de ogen en neusgaten worden voorgesteld door eenvoudige ronde gaten, de mond door een horizontale groef. De armen zijn naast het lichaam afgebeeld. Deze figuur zou een Gallische godheid uit de eerste eeuwen na Christus voorstellen. De druïden zouden rituelen hebben uitgevoerd om hun vee te beschermen. De christelijke religie nam dit heidense geloof over voor haar eigen doeleinden: "om het vee te temmen, moest je ze drie keer rond de marmot laten draaien terwijl je gebeden opzegt".
