Description

Eerst als domein van de bisschoppen van Luik, daarna als grondgebied van het rijk van Karel V, werd Givet Frans onder het bewind van Lodewijk XIV. Als laatste bastion tegenover vijandelijke gebieden heeft de stad Givet altijd centraal gestaan in militaire veroveringsstrategieën.Dit stadje was ook de geboorteplaats van illustere figuren, zoals Etienne-Nicolas Méhul, aan wie we het beroemde "chant du départ" te danken hebben.De architectonische en historische schatten worden ook aangevuld met talrijke recente verwezenlijkingen, die van deze stad een charmante plek maken om te stoppen.
