De poort naar de Champs de Mars, nu een openbare tuin, de Porte de Marbre was oorspronkelijk de ingang naar de binnenplaats van het abdijpaleis.
Het is één van de 3 overblijfselen van de abdij.
Tijdens de Franse Revolutie werd de heuvel een manoeuvreerterrein voor troepen en werden de monniken verdreven.
