Eriseul, een klein dorp met 19 inwoners, maakt sinds 1972 deel uit van de gemeente Saint-Loup-sur-Aujon. Voorheen was het een zelfstandige gemeente, hoewel er geen kerk, school of winkels waren. Water is er bijzonder schaars; ondanks de aanwezigheid van vele bronnen houdt de grond het water niet vast dat in de kalkgrond zakt en een ondergrondse watervoorraad vormt. Tegenwoordig kunt u het bronwater drinken dat het dorp van water voorziet op het plein bij de Fontein. U hoeft alleen maar de kraan een paar seconden omhoog te trekken.
