Desford is een dorp en burgerlijke parochie in het gebied Hinckley en Bosworth, 11 kilometer ten westen van het centrum van Leicester en ongeveer 11 kilometer ten noordoosten van Hinckley. Gelegen op een heuvel van ongeveer 122 meter boven zeeniveau, omvat de parochie de gehuchten Botcheston en Newtown Unthank en een verspreide nederzetting in Lindridge. De bevolking bij de volkstelling van 2011 was gestegen tot 3.930. Desford staat in het Doomsday Book van 1086, maar de naam zelf is ouder dan dat en betekent Deor's Ford, wat wijst op een Angelsaksische oorsprong. Een andere suggestie is dat het betekent 'ford dat vaak door wilde dieren wordt gebruikt'.
