De kleine kerk van St. Nicolaas in Barfreston (of Barfrestone) is een van de verborgen juweeltjes van de Normandische architectuur in Kent, mogelijk in heel Engeland. In de middeleeuwen was het dorp Barfreston een tussenstop voor pelgrims op weg naar het heiligdom van St. Thomas Becket in Canterbury. Dat kan de gelijkenis van Becket verklaren die op de zuidelijke deur is gekerfd, de eerste bekende afbeelding van Becket in het land.
