Het strand van Myrtos wordt beschreven als "een van de meest spectaculaire stranden van Griekenland", met zijn "anderhalve kilometer lange boog van oogverblindend witte kiezels". Het diende als locatie voor de scène met de mijnexplosie in de film Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
