De vruchtbare vallei van Traghea is merkwaardig. De dalbodem van de vallei ligt op ongeveer 200 meter hoogte en is relatief vlak. Het is een typisch voorbeeld van een intramontaan bekken. Zodra je onder de drempel van 200 meter komt, snijdt de rivier v-vormige steile valleien uit en verandert het landschap sterk. Maar boven de drempel van 200 meter vind je dikke en vruchtbare gronden die veel water kunnen bevatten. Je zal merken dat er hier een rijke cultuur van olijfbomen is. Aan de rand van deze vallei vind je een aantal actieve dorpjes die tegen de valleimuren zijn gekleefd: Chalki, Kaloxilos, Kerami, Filoti, Dhamarionas, Chimaros, Tsikalario, Pano Potamia.
