De Slag bij Lepanto op 7 oktober 1571 was een zeeslag tussen de christelijke Heilige Liga en het islamitische Ottomaanse Rijk over de beheersing van het oostelijke Middellandse Zeegebied. Het was een van de grootste zeeslagen uit de wereldgeschiedenis en ook de laatste grote zeeslag waar gebruik werd gemaakt van galeischepen. Hij vond plaats in de buurt van Lepanto aan de nauwe ingang van de Golf van Korinthe.
