De Basiliek van Santa Maria in Porto was een belangrijke kerk in Ravenna, niet ver van Porta Nuova, aan de via Roma, de noord-zuid hoofdstraat door het historische stadscentrum. Het herbergt de Griekse Madonna.
In de eerste helft van de 15e eeuw besloten de Regelkanunniken van Santa Maria in Porto om een nieuw klooster te bouwen naast hun kerk van Santa Maria in Porto Fuori, maar de Republiek Venetië dwong hen om het in plaats daarvan binnen de stadsmuren te bouwen. Ze verkregen een terrein bij de Porta Nuova, in de zuidelijke helft van de ommuurde stad, en sloopten de huizen op het terrein op 5 augustus 1496.
