Els Bock is een heuvelrug gelegen in het noordoostelijke deel van de Stad Luxemburg. Het is een natuurlijke vestiging die het Alzette-riviertje overziet, de oorspronkelijke plaats waar Sigifred van Luxemburg het kasteel van Lucilinburhuc liet bouwen in 963, rondom welke de moderne hoofdstad van Luxemburg zou worden gebouwd. Gedurende eeuwen werd de vesting aangevallen door de Bourgondiërs, de Habsburgers of de Pruisen en werd uiteindelijk verwoest op grond van het Verdrag van Londen in 1867 aan het einde van de Oostenrijks-Pruisische Oorlog. De ruïnes van de vesting en zijn uitgebreide systeem van gangen, galerijen en kazematten zijn vandaag de dag nog steeds een grote toeristische attractie.
