De bron kan men vinden door op de weg Buderscheid-Bastenaken links af te slaan of door vanaf de Pirmin-kapel af te dalen. Volgens de overlevering zou St Pirmin de bron gezegend hebben. Er worden heilzame krachten aan deze bron toegeschreven tegen rachitis en oogziekten. Nog volgens de overlevering is een zoon van de slotheer van Wiltz dankzij deze bron van zijn ziekte genezen.
