Ajdir is een stad in Marokko, in het Rif nabij Al Hoceima. Het was de hoofdstad van de Rif-Republiek, tussen 1922 en 1926 onder leiding van Mohammed Abdelkrim El Khattabi, die in Ajdir geboren is. De stad ligt in de regio Taza-Al Hoceïma-Taounate. Ajdir betekent in het Berber 'ravijn' en is een leenwoord uit het Fenicisch, etymologisch verwant aan plaatsnamen als Agadir en Cádiz.
In het Rif zijn er twee dorpen die de naam 'Ajdir' dragen. In het noorden bij de stad Al Hoceima en in het zuidelijke deel van het Rif tussen de steden Taza en Al Hoceima. De Riffijnen noemen het 'zuidelijke Ajdir' : Ajdir N'Gzenaya. Dit omdat de bewoners van het dorp tot de Igzenayn horen.
