Het historisch museum "Casteelse Poort" herbergt een mooie presentatie over de bevrijding van Nederland in een geheel gerenoveerde zaal 40-45. Bovendien wordt door tijdelijke tentoonstellingen extra aandacht besteed aan vrede en vrijheid.

De bij het museum geplaatste zuil van de 'Voie de la Liberté' vormt het eindpunt van de fietsroute 'Velopalise', Spoor van de vrijheid, die de historische route van de geallieerde bevrijders volgt van Normandie naar Nederland
