Soest ) is een plaats en gemeente in de Nederlandse provincie Utrecht. De gemeente telt 47.126 inwoners en heeft een oppervlakte van 46,43 km². Soest, Soesterberg en buurtschap Soestduinen zijn de kernen in deze gemeente, die verder rijk is aan duinen, bossen, heide en weilanden, grotendeels gebruikt als oefenterrein voor het Nederlands leger. De gemeente heeft een partnerschap met het gelijknamige Soest in Westfalen, Duitsland.
