Broek is een dorp in de gemeente De Friese Meren, in de Nederlandse provincie Friesland. Het ligt ten zuidoosten van Sneek en iets ten westnoordwesten van Joure. In 2021 telde het dorp 215 inwoners.Broek is van oorsprong een echt vaartdorp. Dit is aan de vorm van de plaats nog anno 2018 duidelijk te zien. In de atlas van Schotanus uit 1718 is er geen enkele wegverbinding te vinden op de grietenijkaart van Doniawerstal. Het dorp is ontstaan langs de Scheensloot waaraan het geheel was gelegen Het wordt ook nog doorsneden door de Zijlroede. Deze splitst het dorp op in Broek-Noord en Broek-Zuid.
