Middelstum is een plaats in de gemeente Eemsdelta in de Nederlandse provincie Groningen, gelegen aan het Boterdiep. De plaats telde op 1 januari 2021 2.325 inwoners. Het dorp is vanwege zijn goed bewaard gebleven radiale wierdestructuur en historische centrum aangewezen als beschermd dorpsgezicht met een uitbreiding daarop.
