Hier tref je rivierduinenzand aan. Aan het eind van het Weichselien was de Maas een vlechtende rivier. Een groot deel van de (huidige) rivierbedding lag dus open en bloot en de wind had vrij spel om het zand van deze bedding op te blazen langs de rivier. Er werden dus door de wind rivierduinen gevormd.
