Het Nederlandse Nationaal Park De Biesbosch is een zeer waterrijk natuur- en recreatiegebied. Kenmerkend zijn de zoetwatergetijden, kreken en wilgenvloedbossen. Het bestaat uit een aantal riviereilanden en zand- en slikplaten in de provincies Noord-Brabant en Zuid-Holland. Ze liggen tussen de rivieren Boven-Merwede en Amer, en worden doorsneden door de kunstmatige rivier de Nieuwe Merwede. Aan de oostzijde wordt het gebied begrensd door het Land van Heusden en Altena. Het kan worden onderverdeeld in de Brabantse Biesbosch en de Hollandse Biesbosch, waarbij de laatste weer bestaat uit de Sliedrechtse Biesbosch en de Dordtse Biesbosch.
