Op de grens van Limburg en Noord-Brabant, ten noordwesten van Weert, ligt het Weerterbos. Het gebied bestaat uit vochtige en droge bossen, graslandpercelen en kleine heideveldjes. Verspreid liggen herstelde vennen en centraal in het gebied bevindt zich de tot natuurgebied omgevormde graslandenclave van voormalige boerderij de Grashut. Door het gebied lopen twee onverharde wegen van aangestampte aarde/grind, die zijn opgenomen in het fietsknooppuntennetwerk (en hierdoor ook goed befietsbaar zijn met een racefiets met minimaal 25 mm anti-lek banden).
