En la frontera de Limburgo y Brabante Septentrional, al noroeste de Weert, se encuentra el Weerterbos. El área consiste en bosques húmedos y secos, parcelas de pastizales y pequeños campos de brezo. Dispersos hay estanques restaurados y en el centro del área se encuentra la enclave de praderas, transformada en área natural, de la antigua granja de Grashut. A través del área cruzan dos caminos sin pavimentar de tierra compactada/grava, que están incluidos en la red de puntos de ciclistas (y por lo tanto también son bien transitables con una bicicleta de carretera con neumáticos anti-pinchazos de al menos 25 mm).
