De Aker is een wijk in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Holland. De naam is ontleend aan de Middelveldsche Akerpolder, waarin deze wijk is gelegen. In deze tussen 1876 en 1896 uitgeveende polder was tot de bouw van de wijk voornamelijk tuinbouw.
In De Aker is net als in Nieuw Sloten veel compacter gebouwd dan in de eerder gebouwde Westelijke Tuinsteden. De Aker is het meest westelijke bewoonde deel van de stedelijke bebouwing van Amsterdam en grenst aan de Ringvaart van de Haarlemmermeerpolder.
