Sterksel is een van de kernen van de gemeente Heeze-Leende, in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Brabant. Sterksel heeft circa 1.785 inwoners . Van 1816 tot 1925 behoorde Sterksel tot de gemeente Soerendonk en Sterksel. Deze gemeente is in 1819 uitgebreid met Gastel. In 1925 werd de plaats toegevoegd aan de gemeente Maarheeze. Bij de fusie in 1997 van Maarheeze met Budel tot Cranendonck, werd de plaats bij de gemeente Heeze-Leende gevoegd.
