Wervershoof ) is een dorp in de gemeente Medemblik in de regio West-Friesland in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Holland. Het dorp heeft 8.115 inwoners . Tot 1 januari 2011 was Wervershoof een zelfstandige gemeente.Over het ontstaan van de plaatsnaam Wervershoof bestaan een aantal versies. Voor velen is de vernoeming naar de hoeve van de prediker Werenfridus de meest geliefde. Werenfridus was volgeling van Willibrord en kwam naar het gebied in 690 om het woord van Willibrord en zijn evangelie te verkondigen. Hij woonde destijds in een hoeve in het latere Wervershoof .
