In de Rottige Meente vind je een vaarweg met de naam 'De Scheene'. Een vaarwater dat van Nijeholtpade naar Spanga loopt. Tussen 1850 en 1930 was 'de Scheene' druk bevaren door turfschepen. Nu is het vooral populair voor vaarexcursies.
