Aan de overkant van de Zoomweg ligt behuizing die deel uitmaakt van de wijk Wageningen-Hoog. Deze grond hoorde oorspronkelijk ook bij landgoed De Driest. De ontwikkeling van die wijk laat zien hoe in het begin van de twintigste eeuw als gevolg van de groeiende populariteit van het buitenwonen niet alleen landgoederen, maar ook nieuwe villawijken werden ontwikkeld. Ook de buitenrecreatie nam toe. Daarvan getuigt Recreatiepark de Wielerbaan dat aan je rechterhand ligt. De oorspronkelijke wielerbaan werd in 1933 aangelegd, maar dient thans als speel- en zwemlocatie in het park.
