Marken is een voormalig eiland, nu een schiereiland, in het Markermeer dat sinds 1957 via een dijk met het vasteland verbonden is. Het dorp behoort tot de gemeente Waterland in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Holland.
Het was een zelfstandige gemeente tot 1991. In dat jaar werd het grondgebied bij de gemeente Waterland gevoegd.
