We started the Akerselva River hike from Mariadalevannet and walked along the river towards Oslo Central Station. The advantage is that you follow the river downwards.
To get to the start take the train R31 or tram 12/15 to Kjelsås from the Central Station. If you go by tram you go out at the end station and walk along the Asbjørnsens vei to go to the Kjelsås train station to start the hike.
The hike ends at the Oslo Central Station/Jernbanetorget (metrostation).
