Het stadion werd gebouwd in 1898. Tijdens het WK voetbal in 1958 werden twee wedstrijden in het stadion gespeeld. Ook bij het WK voor vrouwen in 1995 en het EK onder 21 in 2009 werd het stadion gebruikt. Het Olympia is de thuisbasis van Helsingborgs IF.
